Description

Use this fun, engaging, and purposeful winter flipbook as a fun holiday activity with your students! This resource is appropriate for middle and high school students.

Teachers, you can use this winter workbook flipbook as an engaging and purposeful activity around the holidays. I say PURPOSEFUL because students will still be building skills as they work through the flipbook. Students will conduct research, analyze quotes, and write using figurative language– all skills met by the Common Core State Standards. I would suggest assigning this activity the week before winter break or right when students come back from winter break as it’ll still be winter! I’ve included an editable version for your convenience as well.

DIRECTIONS:
1. Print each of the 8 pages SINGLE SIDED for your students. They can be printed in color or black and white.
2. Prompt students to cut around the light grey line (including the tabs) as seen in the example below.
3. Keeping them in order, place them on top of each other like the flipbook in the example.
4. Pass the stapler around and have students staple the TOP three times.

Once the flipbook is made, students will complete the following sections:
-Winter quotes
-Musical origins
-Winter myths
-Winter holidays
-Winter imagery
-Winter poetry
-Winter vocabulary
-Winter traditions

Please download the preview for more information. The preview provides images of the Winter Flipbook pages in action.

NOTE: All resources are digital downloads designed to be printed and distributed by the teacher. You will not receive a physical hard copy of the product. This saves in shipping costs and allows teachers the flexibility to assign the materials when convenient for them. Enjoy!

  1. The SuperHERO Teacher Brittany Wheaton

“I love it when I can get my students engaged in making their own materials. They take a little more pride in it (and seem to lose their work less often) when they have to put their packet together themselves. This is going to be the perfect thing to get them engaged those couple weeks before school lets out for break.” -Erin W.
“This is a great way to do something holiday/winter themed, but still keep it standards based! Thank so much!” -Brittany M.
